Meet Our Staff

  Rev. Dr. Johan Bergh, Pastor

  Installed on November 11, 2012 as our new spiritual leader Pastor Bergh is an ELCA Trained Coach and Trained Coach Mentor. He volunteers his service by coaching ELCA Mission Developers and mentoring ELCA Coach-In-Training rostered leaders. He currently serves as Coaching Ministry Coordinator for the Florida-Bahamas  Synod and serves on the ELCA Churchwide Coaching Ministry Team as well as a level II Natural Church Development Coach. He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia in 2006 with a concentration in Discipleship and Leadership (M.Div., Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, OH 1981). His Bachelor of Science, Natural Resources, Environmental Interpretation (The Ohio State University) degree provides an environmental studies background for his current work as a Green Faith Fellow (

He and his wife Janet have been married 33 years and have two adult daughters, Katherine and Kelsey. He enjoys golf, running, hiking, fitness exercise, basketball, reading, biking, spinning, and good friends!

Janice Storey, Office Manager

Janice was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and moved to Florida in 1963. A Mt. Dora resident, she is married with one child. Janice became Office Manager in January 2010 and enjoys spending her spare time with family, scrapbooking and going to the beach.





Leona Greenlaw, Music Director

Leona Greenlaw joined the staff at St. Philip Lutheran Church as Music Director in mid-April. She was born in Los Angeles, and has served congregations as organist and/or director of music almost continuously since her high school days. Her BA degree is in Organ Performance, from Occidental College, in Los Angeles; her MA is in Drama from Washington University in St. Louis.

She has also had extensive experience in music education, having founded and, for 17 years, directed a community choral academy for children and youth in the St. Louis area when her children were young. Choirs under her direction have sung by invitation at state and regional conventions of the American Choral Directors Association, and numerous times with the St. Louis Symphony. Leona has also taught piano and directed children’s’ choirs at Interlochen Center for the Arts, as well as music, drama, and art at international schools in Japan, Indonesia, Morocco, Angola, and the Philippines.

Leona lives in Altamonte Springs. She has four adult children and four grandchildren. Her first-born, Ken, lives on a sailboat in San Francisco Bay, and is a computer consultant. Her daughter, Kirstin–concertmaster of the FSU orchestra in her college years–is now the Principal Second Violin of the Dayton Philharmonic. Ian and Kevin, who are identical twins, both have vocal degrees from Eastman School of Music, and have both had careers as opera singers. Ian is now teaching voice and directing the opera program at Millikin University, in Decatur, IL. Kevin is married to a Finnish opera singer, Marjukka Teponnen. They live in Helsinki, and both have very active singing careers—as well as a very active 2-year-old, Evert.
